Unemployment Checks…

the busiest intersection in Hawaii not so busy anymore.  the Hawaii unemployment rate is 37% which means more than 1 in 3 workers lost their job as a result to the coronavirus.  i heard a few people have been getting their $1,200 checks.  and also heard that some people are getting their unemployment checks too.  the government added $600/week to unemployment checks so most people will be getting over $3,000/month.  omg!  so if you were unfortunate to get fired, you be fortunate receiving both checks which will amount to more than you were getting paid when you had a job.  when you think of it, lot’s of people won’t return to their jobs when this pandemic is over…

when we go on Mentawai boat trips,  somebody always gets hurt.  why?  because the waves are big, powerful, and it’s very shallow.  in this case, Numajiri-san got this at HT’s.  i remember thinking “wait?  the nearest hospital is 12 hours away by boat!”  trips like this make you stronger than ever…
