for many years, i’ve been on many free dive trips all around the world with Red Sea Adventures. mostly shooting fish for dinner, and also filming for Hawaii Skin Diver TV. i use to come back from trips and my nephews use to ask about it. now, the are on the path to doing the exact same thing. they are still growing as divers and it’s a treat to watch them grow. funny at times, and also very rewarding. to see them respecting the ocean at a very young age, that makes me the most proud.
when they were just kids, i use to take them to my secret spots and they couldn’t catch anything. haha. they tried so hard, but always came up empty. i told them that someday they will be able to catch their own dinner. but before they killed something, they would have to learn how to clean fish. so i made them clean all my fish. haha. looking back at this photo, i remember telling them, “before you clean the fish, hold it up so i can take a photo. someday you will be able to bring home dinner, so never give up.” and they never gave up…
fast forward 10 years, these kids go diving together, catch dinner together, clean it together, cook it together, and enjoy it together. anyway, the boys will be on TV this month so watch Hawaii Skin Diver TV on May 5 at 7:30 on Channel 16. thanks to Red Sea Ocean Adventures, The Nakamoto’s, and Hawaii Skin Diver TV for all the support throughout the years…
