woke up at 3am, checked the waves, and decided to go moonlight surfing. this was the last supermoon of the year so i wanted to take advantage of that. i passed by the Hilton Waikikian and there was only one light on. i wonder who that was?
i love full moon surfing because it’s so peaceful. nobody will be out, you use the moonlight to see the waves, and the rest is by feel. my first 3 waves were in the pitch dark surfing perfect chest high Bowls. riding my Aipa twin fin flying down glassy walls all alone. i was so stoked that i was screaming the whole way. i’m pretty sure you could have heard my from the parking lot. haha. then at 6:30am, i came in and was totally satisfied. i can’t wait to do it again next month!!!
Nao-san sent me these photos from Shibuya. one of the most busiest cities in the world is not so busy right now…
this is the same bus station where i jumped on a bus heading to nowhere back in 1992. i remembering going with the flow. i use to get lost on purpose so i could learn to speak Japanese. it worked well. i hope Japan will reopen soon because i miss the food, culture, and my friends so much…
