if i had to choose the most precious photo of my life, it would be this one. it was taken 16 years ago and turned out to be a turning point in my life. this is when i fell in love with teaching how to surf, and also fell in love with photography. from that time on, i dedicated my life to a surf instructor, and also a photographer by capturing other people precious moments similar to this. this is the same girl in the photo above. for the past 16 years, i taught her that the ocean heals everything. so when she wouldn’t listen, get into trouble, or just do something stupid, i would simply take her to the ocean and we would talk it through. i never yelled at her, never spanked her, and never said anything negative to her. we would just go to the ocean and everything will be alright. someday she will become a Mother and i hope she will raise her kids the same way…Tony and i loaded up the truck and took it to the dump. the cool thing about Hawaii is you can pretty much throw anything away everyday of the week. the dump is 20 minutes away. i takes 1 hour to load up the rubbish, and 10 minutes to dump it. teamwork! everybody is giving a helping hand on Kelia and Joe’s home. when it’s all done, there will be a lot of love flowing in the air. you can almost feel it already…
