you guys been wondering what’s being going in and out of the Ala Wai channel? they are dredging the dirty Ala Wai Canal. they dig it up, put it on that barge, tow it out to sea, and dump it.
it’s a big and very expensive project. but in the end, hopefully Bowls will be a cleaner place to surf.
there’s a lady out at Diamond Head that’s been yelling at everybody. some of the guys call her “Karen.” right in front of us, she yelled “foilers are assholes!!!!” i told her in a very nice voice “yes, some foilers are assholes. but some longboards are assholes too. in fact, there are assholes everywhere.” then she said “i’ve been surfing out here everyday this past winter!” then i replied “hey aunty, i’ve been surfing here for over 30 years. i live 5 minutes away.” then i heard a voice saying to me “Kirby, silence is golden…” opps! so i kept quiet, the lady went in, and we had a blast!
i pray to God that no man calls us foilers assholes in front of this guy they call Kaiborg. i would be very scared for that guy…
