i met Australian big wave surfer Mark Mathews back in 2004. we were staying at the same surf camp for a contest in the Philippines for a week. i got to know him and his surfing very well. very mellow, kind, and quiet guy, but surfing was very explosive. throughout the years, i’ve seen him on the North Shore every winter season. we would always talk about our amazing trip. BUT, for the past 5 years, i haven’t seen Mark around, neither heard about him. so when i see a new documentary about him online, i watched it not knowing what to expect. it was one of the best documentaries i’ve ever seen. please watch it because it is really touching, and very inspiring. i can’t wait to see Mark in the lineup again!!!
