i remember taking this photo a few weeks after the typhoon hit fukushima. i was speechless at the time. to imagine the destruction, and the people under all that debris. we will pass by this area again and i will take another photo of how it looks now.
good morning from tokyo, japan. yesterday was so weird. i slept on the plane and thought i woke up in japan. but we were actually still in hawaii. when i looked out the window, i seen blue sky and something wasn’t right. our plane broke again and this isn’t the first time this year. anyway, we boarded another plane, i closed my eyes and when i opened it, we were in japan. i slept 9 hours, no food, no movie, and no talking. just snoring all the way. i needed that rest.
ate some awesome sushi, slept good, and i feel super fresh. heading to shonan, a few meetings, then loading the vans and heading up to tohoku tomorrow. everybody is saying it’s cold, but nothing is colder than what we experienced last time. remember sleeping in the car when it was snowing. that’s cold.
our group will consist of 8 people. all who have been up there before so we all have a close bond. i got my camera so you’ll know exactly what’s going on. taking the good, the bad, and the same. i really don’t know what to expect.
as for the surf, i have no clue. i’m not here to surf but if a typhoon comes my way, i’m looking for barrels for sure. taking a much needed vacation next week. going somewhere far. going to rest my body, relax my mind, so when i go back to hawaii, i’m going to work harder than ever. north shore big waves are coming, and so are lots of thing that have to be done. if i’m 100%, nothing can stop me.
anyway, i told myself that i don’t want to spend too much time on my computer this trip. so i’m signing off. have a wonderful day!
