Living in the Dark….

188

good morning. 7:30am and what a long night it was. it all started at 6:30pm yesterday evening when i was watching tv and all of a sudden, the lights went off and it was pitch dark. luckily i have flashlights and candles ready so i was ok but when i looked outside, the whole valley was pitch dark. i didn’t have a radio in my house so i went into my car to listen to the radio. the whole island of oahu was blacked out!! wow… and it’s making big news because president obama is here. i was thinking terrorist for a minute… scary…

this is the only light i had on.. a couple of candles was enough. could you imagine all the people stuck in elevators, stuck in their hotel rooms, stuck in restaurants, stores, and movie theaters? that must have been scary….

no traffic lights? no lights period. i had to investigate so i drove down the street. i turned down waialae avenue facing waikiki and it was pitch black. waikiki in the dark? oh my gosh… it was kind of spooky. anyway, the lights went back on this morning. and you know what? i learned something. don’t take electricity for granted. i’m going to look into solar energy…
**as for the waves. small again but if you know where to look, you might score. strong trade winds and east wind swell. do you know where to go? let me give you a hint. DHLH. figure it out… maybe see ya out there….
