i still remember the first time i took the boys fishing. i wish i recorded their faces when the fish first bit their hook. they were screaming and so excited. it was so cute! my goal back then was to encourage them to fall in love with the ocean. this is Seth, Isaiah, and Joshua before they even started to surf. we had to climb under a gated fence to get to this secret fishing spot. glad we didn’t get caught. my sister would have killed me. haha.
then a few years later, i went to the Moniz house and gave them a lesson on free diving. they didn’t even know how to use a snorkel back then. haha.
a few years later, Isaiah wanted to catch his first Ahi. mission accomplished.
a few years later, Seth and Joshua are hooked on free diving. i’ve had the most incredible experiences with these boys. i taught them as much as i possibly could, and now they’re learning by their own experiences in the ocean. and i’m actually learning from them. the cool thing is that someday these boys are going to pass down their knowledge of the ocean to their kids, nieces, and nephews. stay tuned for the next generation of watermen…
