i was watching the video of us trying to bring in this huge Ahi onto Mayuki. it was one of the most exciting moments in my fishing life.
i’ve been trying and trying to find this father and daughter for the past 15 years. no luck yet but i really want them to have this photo. it’s just so precious.
3 days ago one Bowls local hit the reef and cut the side of his eye. this morning another local hit another locals surfboard and cut the side of his eye. then right after that, another local hit his surfboard and cut his head. all three of them ended up at the Emergency Room getting stitches. it reminded me of a few years ago when i almost had to get my foot amputated because it got infected. a surfer threw his board over the wave and his board stabbed me in the foot. so when somebody ran me over yesterday in that exact situation, i had this flashback. and no, i wasn’t happy at all!
another one of my gopros that drowned. i probably drowned 15 of these already. multiply that by the $400 it costs for each and that number is pretty big. so no, taking photos isn’t cheap…
