Jellyfish Sunday

149

it was a super beautiful Sunday morning out at Bowls.  perfect sunrise and perfect conditions.

there were these huge jellyfish that live in the Ala Wai Canal that got taken out to sea with the currents.  they were a lot of them in the lineup so if you surfed Bowls today, you probably touched one when you were paddling.  it feels like jello…

i was super happy to see my nephew Isaiah Moniz paddle out this morning.  i haven’t seen him in over 2 years and haven’t surfed with him in over 4 years.  so i was a very happy Uncle today!  when i was paddling out, i saw him get this really good wave.

i always thought that Isaiah had the most surfing talent out of all the Moniz kids.  he’s just really natural.  the kind of kid that can ride any type of surfboard and make it look good.  and he can also paddle a big canoe on these waves too.  look at the start of this beautiful turn!

imagine your Nephew coming out and performing like this.  made me so proud.  the did this turn right in front of me and he knew i was right there watching.

that’s why after the turn, he was smiling at me.  haha.  gosh, i just love this kid and i’m so happy that he’s back were he belongs.  which is in the ocean on a surfboard.  love you Isaiah!
