Tokura-san was one of the first surfers i met when i went to Japan. from the first day we met, he took me all around Japan chasing typhoons, supported my surfing, and supported my life. i became a JPSA Pro surfer because of him. i traveled around Japan and met the coolest locals because of him. i traveled around the world to surf the best waves because of him. and i live the wonderful life i live today because of him. so when ever an old photo like this pops up, it reminds me of one of the most influential people in my life. if it wasn’t for Tokura-san, my world would be half empty… 
at 73 years old, Tokura-san is still teaching me how to travel, respect the locals, and how to live the best life as a surfer. he’s a legend! thank you Tokura-san for teaching me the Japanese way, and thank you for keeping me warm all these years with DOVE! i’m still following you in your footsteps…
