Grandma’s Shamisen

105

My Mom has some of my Grandma’s things.  I was looking at it last night and was wondering what this box was?  Do you know what it is?

Then my Mom said that she had my Grandma’s shamisen.  I said “WHAT???  REALLY???”  I had no idea my Grandma had a shamisen.  I knew she has a koto and she use to play it, but that’s about it.  Anyway, she showed it to me and I was so excited that I brought it home.  This has to be at least 80 years old.  I didn’t open it yet and I’m sure it’s been wrapped like this since my Grandma passed away 45 years ago.  Maybe this is a sign for me to try to play it?  The first song I’m going to learn is “Sakura Sakura” because my Grandma use to always sing it.

Last, I just found the Kikaida theme songs on YouTube.  I actually got chicken skin listening to it.  So many good childhood memories from my hero Kikaida!
