Planet Earth Hawaii

Waves were fun this morning.  Calm conditions and just a normal day at Bowls.  Then we saw water splashing and fish jumping.  I swim to check it out and it was a big GT hunting!

See that little stick fish on the surface?  That’s what this giant fish was trying to eat.  He didn’t care we were there.

As it got closer, I could see how big it was.  I’m guessing 70lbs. and a lot of meat.  I’m glad I got this photos because this is how GT’s approach you when you’re diving.  Imagine seeing a big aggressive fish like this swimming directly to you.   Sometimes it’s a fish, and sometimes it’s a shark.    It’s not easy keeping calm but we’re in their world.

When small fish are in danger, they look for things to cling on.  They feel safer near bigger objects so I don’t blame this little guy to take cover near us.  Thank goodness a shark wasn’t chasing this.  Haha.

This was the highlight for the day.  I just love how unpredictable the ocean can be.  It was a beautiful thing to see.  Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
