Went to watch the Pipeline Pro this morning. The first contest for the 2024 WSL season. Waves were good in the morning and so were the smiles. Reo Inaba is such a good kid!
And Taichi Wakita following in his fathers footsteps. Another good kid that is well respected here in Hawaii.
Seth Moniz is one of the coolest kids you will ever meet. And he surfs pretty good too. Haha.
This guy Gabriel Medina is one of the fiercest competitors. He’s one of the few that can beat his competitors before the heat even starts.
Rio Waida is another good kid. Representing all the boys over there in Indonesia!
Lots of waves but only a few good ones. You have to be a good hunter to survive.
I don’t think I can handle the emotions of watching my nephews compete anymore. When they don’t make a heat, I’m completely devastated. I get frustrated, angry, and sad. Thank goodness he’s in the 3rd round.
The biggest contest of the year is the Pipeline Pro. It draws thousands of people to the North shore every year. It makes millions of dollars for the economy. So my question is “why do they close the road to trim the bushes during this time?” That’s not good planning at all!!!!
After watching the contest, I took this girl to surf Haleiwa. It was pumping!!!
