remember one of my dreams of buying a boat, taking my friends surfing
around the world, and enjoying life? that was my dream since my first
boat trip back in 1994. throughout the years, i’ve ridden some awesome
boats and had some awesome experiences. every experience, i’m learning,
i’m watching, and i’m soaking in as much information possible. why? so
when that time comes, i know what the heck i’m doing. haha.
my first boat trip 17 years ago was a small 18m or 60ft sailboat with
small rooms and a tiny engine. we had 8 of us on board with 2 staff
taking care of us.
as for my next boat trip? meet the beautiful Alexandra. this boat, or
should i say yacht, is 50m or 164ft long. there will be 8 of us going
with 12 staff, including chefs and stewardess, taking care of any of our
needs. there are 2 speedboats, 2 three-seater waverunners, water skies,
wakeboards, diving equipment, satellite equipment, WiFi internet, all
the alcohol you can imagine, and of course, my surfboards. i don’t even
know what to expect. i don’t even think this is real? is somebody going
to wake me up tomorrow? what’s going on? i was invited to go on this
trip back in june of this year. honestly, i had to think about it. am i
and idiot? think about it? think about what? i really thought to myself,
“wait, this boat trip is in january, that’s when all my friends from
japan come to hawaii, that’s when the waves are at it’s biggest and best
on the north shore. what should i do???” i sat down for 1 minute,
slapped myself in the head, and told myself “hey dummy, this is a
lifetime opportunity. your friends will understand, the waves will be
there when you get back, so stop thinking so much and GO!!!” so in less
than 2 weeks, i’m GOING! the time has come for me to experience what
99.9% of the worlds population can only dream of. i’ll be sitting in the
jacuzzi every evening during sunset sipping on a glass of champagne.
it’s funny how i barely graduated from high school and look where i am
today? my high school teachers would never believe it. haha.
dream big. because let me tell you something: DREAMS COME TRUE!
