it’s amazing how people connect. kanae-san and saito-san came to shonan to help load our vans for WE ARE ONE M1. it was there when they met Toco-san. Toco-san came on M1 and M5. then kanae-san and saito-san came to hawaii a few weeks ago. after they went back to japan, toco-san went over to saito-san’s company to say “Hi.” this is the full circle of ONE. great things came out of our ONE project. people were helped, and friends were made. what a great feeling!
john kelly hanoa is a true hawaiian. very nice, very kind, and very strong. i knew him since i was a kid and this big hawaiian has a lot of aloha. when i seen him take off on this wave, i followed him down the line and knew what he was going to do. a big power turn. i took this one photo and knew it was good! what’s up john kelly, good to see you ripping at ehukai the other day. much more power and spray then the other surfers out that day! show those boys how us old guys do it!!!!
every time i watch the waves at pipeline, i think to myself, “why would you want to live any where else in the world?”
