Even though I was already sleeping by 7pm, I got up right before midnight to experience the start of the new year. From the window of my house, I can see the biggest and most illegal fireworks show. Free show to start off this beautiful 2025! Then at 12:05am, I’m back to sleep.
Every year I make sure to start it off right. I was in the ocean before the sunrise searching for the perfect wave.
Drove by a secret spot where nobody was around for miles, parked the boat, and jumped right in.
This was my very first wave of 2025! Felt so free, so warm, and so happy to be alive for another year.
I ended up surfing longer than expected because the waves were good and nobody was out. It’s really hard to go in on days like this but my mochi soup was waiting for me at home so I went in.
Then picked up Nakahodo-san as he arrived today. Surfed some fun Bowls and getting ready for some big waves this week.
It still amazes me how beautiful Hawaii is. There are waves for everyone.
December 31, 2024 I ended the year with this longboard that hit my legs.
