Another beautiful day in Hawaii. Morning surf at Ala Moana was fun. Little bigger than yesterday, less wind, and many more waves.
I was putting new fishing line and cleaning my fishing poles. For some reason, I felt like fishing!
I was talking to one of the aunties this morning at Bowls. She told me that she was sick for 6 years and almost died. From being totally healthy, to almost dying overnight. Why? She told me that one of the Uncles at Bowls gave her deer sashimi. She ate it, got terribly sick, gave some to her cat, and her cat died. It took 6 years to get the virus out of her body including chemotherapy treatments.
One part of me was happy that she told me about it. And one part of me was sad because deer sashimi is my favorite. I’m not sure if I will be eating it anymore. She kept on telling me over and over not to take the chance. That got me thinking.
So now when I go to Molokai, I probably won’t be dipping raw deer fillets in wasabi/shoyu and eating it like a caveman anymore. Bummer…
