Independence Day Round 2: Back to the Park

15

Round 1:  Sunny morning with good conditions.  So many surfers on this 4th of July holiday!

Yokota-san surfing in Hawaii for the first time and loving the long rides.

Nakahodo-san surfing in Hawaii for the 200th time and loving the long rides.

If you see a turtle, you will have a lucky day.

Round 2:  It was a miracle but we found a parking spot right in front of Big Rights.  Nakahodo-san couldn’t wait to get out there.

In my whole lifetime, I’ve never seen Ala Moana Beach park surf spots so empty.  I think it’s because there was no parking due to the fireworks tonight.  Luckily we found parking, and luckily nobody was out.  We scored Big Rights all to ourselves.  Maybe we got lucky because of the turtle?  Believe!

The south swell continues as we continue to surf as much as possible.  I’m completely sunburnt out and surfed out but once I see waves, my adrenaline goes up.  Nakahodo-san’s adrenaline running very high on this one.  7pm and in bed.  Goodnight.
