Valley of the Temples: History, Power, and Peace….

247

good evening. another windy day but great day to get things done. i washed my car, packed some boards, looked for my boat trip guns online, made some international calls and emails, and took a much needed nap. it’s already march 1st and a time for me to get ready for a long year of traveling, traveling, and traveling. i have trips lined up and i can’t wait to start. but before that, i still want to get barreled and know that the epic days are sure to come. wanted to say hello to taro ishizeki here in hawaii. taro-san, go surf sandy’s. wanted to say hello to aki-san for the information on that secret spot in japan that i will surely someday visit. and thanks to the rest of you who sent emails about that spot. maybe we can all surf it together someday. that would be cool. and thanks to keito-san for the kind comment about my comment. “surfing is about having fun” and i’m glad you feel the same way. don’t be afraid to have fun what ever your doing. surfing is about having fun, and life is about having fun too. be happy, think positive, and good things will happen. that, i know…. and to the rest of you who sent comments, thanks for the support and keep them coming because that’s what keeps me going. mahalo…

i went up to the VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES on the windward side this morning to visit my grandma. this place is so magical. you can feel the history, the power, and the peace as soon as you drive up the hill….

the view is breathtaking…

a lot of people don’t know this but there is a temple way in the back. japanese history right in hawaii…

this was built a long time ago for the first japanese that immigrated to hawaii from japan. the VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES is a resting place for most 1st and 2nd generation american/japanese. from okinawa, kumamoto, hiroshima, nagasaki, and other places roots are all resting here….

i learned something today. i learned that our ancestors all made plans when they past away to rest in such a magical place here in hawaii. it’s kind of hard to explain what i felt today. but like i said before, i felt the history, i felt the power, and i felt the peace. it’s really comforting to know that my grandma is resting in such an awesome place. a place where i wouldn’t mind ending up too…
