Poison: Dead Tilapia

8

I got a text when I was in Bali, “your boat is sinking!”  I kind of freaked out for a second, then thought “wait, my boat can’t sink?”  I call back and ask if he’s sure and after double checking, he said “sorry, the boat next to yours is sinking.”  OMG!  I went down to check it out today and the boat owner next to me actually tied a rope to mine so it wouldn’t sink.  I’m not sure how I feel about that.

I didn’t know the extent of the recent storms until I opened my garage.  It was flooded and everything was soaking wet.  It might be a while until everything dries out.

I saw dead fish in the Ala Wai.  Tilapias are very strong fish so if you see dead ones floating around, that means the water is polluted.  Stay out!

Everybody is talking about the historic flooding and storms.  It’s hard to believe because I left when it was totally sunny and came back to blue skies.  I don’t pay attention to the news when traveling.  So it’s very heartbreaking to hear about all the people losing their houses and everything.  Watching the news is sad.
