No Jellyfish and Frozen Poke

8

Round 1:  Dawn patrol Bowls.  Today no box jellyfish today but probably tomorrow.

The waves were so good again.  Nakahodo-san on a really nice wave.

I can see major improvements in his surfing.  Calmer, stronger, and always hunting.

Don Quijote has a big advertisement for the Poke Bowl.  It’s in Japanese saying that it’s very delicious and highly recommended to eat in Hawaii.  They should have written in small print “Try our recommended frozen Vietnam Poke Bowl!”  I think this sign is so misleading.

So instead, we went to Foodland.  Be careful here also because they have frozen Vietnam poke too.  The difference is that they tell you which one is local and which one is from Vietnam.  We both ordered fresh local poke bowls.  It was delicious.

Round 2:  Boot Camp at Diamond Head.

The waves were so fun today again.  Lots of waves, few people, and very challenging.  Nakahodo-san had his best DH session to date.  You learn so much about the ocean by surfing here.   Yesterday I caught a set from way outside and rode it all the way to the sand.  This is by far the longest wave on the south shore.
