Thanks to the hurricane, everything changed. The winds stopped and the whole ocean went calm. The south swell continued as the east swells from the hurricane started to pulse. It was a perfect 2 days for a surf boat trip. 
I went on multiple boat trips around the world. The cheapest 12 day charter was $35,000 and the most expensive one was $1,000,000. The dream was to pull into a secluded island and come across a wave like this. Jump off the boat and surf with just a few friends. Nobody else around for hundreds of miles. So being able to live the dream boat trip right here in Hawaii is a treat. Mighty Mouse is loving the Hawaii boat trip life.
When the winds back off and there are 2 swells from different directions, everywhere turns on. This happens only a couple times a year. The popular spots will be small and weak and the secret spots will be big and strong.
As I was pulling up to this new secret spot, I told the girls “Hurry and get in the water! It doesn’t get any better than this.” They waxed up and jumped in before I could even anchor the boat.
After catching 20 waves, Mighty Mouse came back and said she was content. I told her “get back out and surf because this might be the only day of the year like this.” She rehydrated and paddled back out and caught 20 more. 
The water was crystal clear. I can’t wait to go diving again.
When we were done surfing, one of the motors wouldn’t start. Thank goodness we have two. Made it back safely. 
This boat has brought so much joy to so many people throughout the years. When it breaks I get frustrated but it’s always worth it in the end. I can’t live without it.
