Another historic south swell! 15′-25′ Hurricane swell with box jellyfish. The conditions weren’t perfect, but if you hunted, you could find the perfect wave for sure.
Today the swell shifted out of the southwest direction so everything changed. It was totally different from yesterday. The rights at Bowls was as good as it gets. Check out Scott taking off on a dream point right break. It never gets like this!
We paddled out and just focused on the rights because it could be another 30 years till it gets like this again. Hashimoto-san, Mighty Mouse, and Rocky all got really good rights this morning.
There were also some good lefts and Carter was on it!

The normal south swells come all the way from New Zealand so it’s usually very spaced apart. Hurricane swells are different. They form very near to the islands so the waves are very close together. It was nonstop swells pumping all day long. The best summer ever continues through September.
