The Price of Paradise

293

in japan, it’s pretty safe and there is not much crime. but this is not japan. most japanese think it’s safe here but i’ve seen too much crime in my life and nowhere is safe on this island anymore. people are stealing things at any chance they have. i see car windows smashed with a rock and everything taken. yes, we live in paradise but there is a price we have to pay.

if you leave your bag or camera somewhere in the care were it is visible, there is a good chance somebody will steal it. breaking a window and stealing everything a car takes less than 30 seconds. and if you call the police, it will take at least 30 minutes for them to come, and your chances of getting your valuables back are less than 0.1%.

here is my advice. hide your valuables so it’s out of site. or better yet, don’t take it with you. park in well open areas and always keep an eye on your car. and if you have a rent-a-car, good luck because nothing will work. rent-a-cars are targets and if you drive one, please be careful.
*and i just seen my friend Ryo who just got is camera gear and computer stolen from his car at laniakea. sad.
