yesterday i tested out my new GoProHero2 HD. i put it on a long stick, swam out to OTW and Backdoor, and filmed a little. it was cloudy but so what, the talent was there, the waves were fun, and this is hawaii. hopefully i can get the video up by tonight. just another thing on my list of 100 things to do. check out this barrel shot! i had my mask on and couldn’t believe how shallow it is out there. and to think i was pulling into barrels early in the morning? crazy? yes, anybody who pulls into barrels out there is a little crazy. and if they don’t think so, they haven’t seen the reef out there yet. haha.
this was probably the coolest moment of my free diving career. to meet the Amasan divers who reminded me of my grandmothers. that was something i will never forget. the cool thing is you will be able to see these amazing grandmothers diving on OCN TV. the awesome footage was shot by Kyle Nakamoto and will air in 5 days. stay tuned!
