mike prickett and i went to the same high school. we grew up surfing sandy beach and portlock back in the 80’s. a true friend to me, the coolest guy in the world, and a golden heart. mike’s always been like a brother to me. always supporting me and always encouraging me. mike risked his live to save another mans life. i wasn’t surprised when he dove down to depths that could kill any person to save another mans life. the other diver walked away, mike didn’t. i went to the hospital to see him today. i was really nervous at first, but when he seen me, he winked, smiled, told me he loves me, and hugged me like a brother. i was lost for words, but like always, he made me feel good somehow. it’s just the kind of person he is. and if you met him, you would understand why.
they have a big team at Kuakini Hospital working with him. trying to get him to walk again. they just brought in a high tech assisted electronic walker to help him get his feeling back in his legs. he’s paralyzed from the waist down and i’m praying to god that he can walk again. he’ll be in the hospital for another month so if you know him, please stop by and give the man a hug.

I was so stoked to see you today.
You risked your life for somebody else and I know you would do it again if you had to.
I’ll be thinking about you everyday and when I get back from my trip, I’ll take you over another bento.
