if you don’t know who martin potter is, he happened to be the most explosive surfer that came onto the scene in the 80’s. his surfing took the world level up a notch. i had a chance to hang out with him in japan a few times 20 years ago because matsuo use to distribute his boards. super cool guy and super funny too. it was good to see him in the mentawai’s. he’s been going there for the past 20 years and is still ripping! this is macaroni’s. i’d say 3-5′? Go-Pottz!
reika and ayaka had a dance night on the boat. from AKB48 dancing to hip hop, we had a blast watching these 2 young energetic girls. they took the dingy the next morning to check out the waves and when they were coming back, you could hear them screaming and dancing. it was so funny! these girls made our trip very interesting! check them out dancing to a song they made up called “KAMIO.”
when zuccho puts on his glasses, he looks like a movie star. then put him on a secluded white sand beach? 3x JPSA grand champion is a wanted man.
everything breaks. i mean, every kind of surfboard breaks. some manufactures say their boards are bullet strong. i don’t believe that. all it takes is your board in the wrong place at the wrong time and it’s finished. i’ve seen too many boards that’s not supposed to break, break. kosei-san caught a chest high wave, wiped out, and his new firewire board was in 3 pieces with little black tubes sticking out. like i said “finished!”
