hello hello. i couldn’t surf today because my shoulder still hurts like hell. watching the boys ripping the waves at sunabe was hard for me to watch. my mind was saying “charge!! charge!!” but my body was saying “itai!! itai!!”. itai won so i ended up watching the boys getting barreled in the best sunabe i’ve ever witnessed….
check out ken getting ready to pull into a backdoor barrel with kinsan shooting for surf1st right in front of him. after seeing this wave, i wanted to run back to the hotel and grab my board. but wait, i can’t even run….
then when i seen satoru-san’s big close out left, i thought i’d better take it easy before i hurt my other shoulder. what do you think? this wave is double overhead???
for every surf session around the world, there’s always one surfer shining on that given day. today’s day was shimpei’s. he made the most barrels, and caught the best waves. great job shinpei. check out his blog on WWW.GO-NAMINORI.COM….
tomo-san from the saiko series dvd collection is here filming for OKINAWA SAIKO DVD. it should be out soon and i wish i could have been in it surfing, instead of just partying… haha…
and last, when there’s photographers on the beach, everybody wants their photo. check out how packed it is? it gets pretty crowded here in okinawa and sometimes hard to catch waves. i’m smart when it comes to that. i just sit on the outside next to kazubo-san or satoru-san and when they say “Go-Kirby”, Kirby-Goes. i don’t look back and if i drop in on somebody, you have to talk it over with my okinawan bodyguards. some people might think that’s sly, but after surfing here for the past 10 years, that’s the way it goes. as kazubo-san say “MENSORE”…..
*i’m still stuck here because i can’t get a flight out. but i ain’t complaining because there’s anywhere in the world where i wanted to be stuck, it would be here. here in okinawa!!! have a nice day!!!!
