good morning from hot chiba. sitting in the car at onjuku beach at 7:45am and it’s hot! sweating already and today supposed to be 35 degrees celsius or 95 fahrenheit. OMG! i just took a peak into the hotel and there are about 20 kids from fukushima ready to jump into the ocean. starts at 9:30 and it’s going to be super fun! go-naminori bloggers yumie, chiaki okayama, alyssa wooten, and asako mizuno are all here so i’m happy to see my go-family! toda-san and takami-san picked me up at 5:30 and brought me here so i want to thank them. toda-san is sitting in the front seat snoring right now. haha.
the next typhoon is heading this way pushing south swell to us so i’m probably going to head west to shikoku. by car? train? airplane? bus? walk? i don’t know. japan has the best transportation system in the world so any way will work. hopefully can maximize my very few days and surf, relax, explore, friends, and smiles. but first, i better get ready for today! surf school for fukushima kids organized by yumie-chan! i’m sure the kids will be happy to get back in the water again. and to surf? it’s going to be amazing! i’ll try to take as many photos as possible. stay tuned.
check out my lunch yesterday at my favorite sandwich/soup restaurant in hawaii. so good, so cheap, and so healthy. when Y-san told me he wanted to eat something healthy, i knew this was the place to go too.
it was Y-san’s first time to surf. when i picked him up from his hotel, he looked like a surfer. in fact, looks like my friend akazawa-san. anyway, we surfed for 2.5 hours and caught so many good waves. i think he’s hooked on surfing and i’m sure i’ll see him in the water again. hey Y-san, thank you for a fun morning in the water. and hope you find that aloha shirt you’re looking for. take care and enjoy the rest of your trip in hawaii while i sweat here in japan. haha.
yesterday i got 2 new chicks. these were born yesterday and will grow up at my house and produce me fresh large brown eggs. i better get my natto ready.
