i’m not your typical photographer. i don’t just shoot famous pro surfers. i shoot anybody. i don’t know who this is but this guy has a nice surf style. gosh, it felt good to be back in the water with my fisheye. water shots are the best. you can really feel this round house cutback…
remember i went sightseeing yesterday? i took off the main road and drove into this little tiny fishing village. it was so old school that my car barley fit through the streets. and when i came across this little bay with all these boats parked right in front of the houses, i thought to myself “i would love to live in a place like this when i retire”…. next year? i wish…. but this place was super magical. it felt like right out of an old samurai movie or something. i thought i was going to see abarenbo shogun run out with his samurai sword and cut up my car….
taka-san caught fresh katsuo and gave 2 to me to bring home. matchi was nice enough to cut it up for me. i cut it into cubes, mixed it with some shoyu, ponzu, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and put it over hot rice. i had an instant “Poke Bowl”…. a good team effort. thanks guys…
and last, i have a problem. i double booked two tickets. i don’t know where should i go? ummm….. i was on the phone with JAL for a long time yesterday trying to get a flight out of japan. i didn’t know that there was a holiday called silver week? i know golden week, but silver week? what’s next? bronze week? anyway, the journey continues….
