yes everyone, surfing is booming now! this is the US Open of Surfing at Huntington beach.
the traffic out on the north shore gets crazier and crazier. it’s all because of the bus loads of tourists going to lanikea to look at the turtles. i would hate to live out there, and if i did, i’d think about moving. imagine driving 2 hours to get home when i actually takes only 10 minutes. the traffic went all the way past the traffic lights at haleiwa.
then even backed up all the way to surf and sea surf shop. OMG! lucky we did the smart thing and drive out the the north shore around the island. if not, we’d be stuck!
good to hear that JAL is upgrading it’s business class to full flat seats. i guess they had to follow delta. i flew business on JAL before and it’s not even close to the delta experience. in fact, i’d rather sit economy and hope for an empty seat next to you. but now, i might have to try it out.
nothing was in sight as my friends told me it’s too early to go to japan. well, i can’t just fly in and out as i please because of my job. so my schedule is set and i just hope for waves. anyway, i woke up this morning and guess what? something is forming. a possible typhoon? perfect timing again? we’ll just have to wait and see!
anyway, the waves came up yesterday afternoon and nobody knew. we scored perfect bowls with nobody around. the conditions were the best in 2 weeks. perfect light off shore winds, sunny sky, and clear warm water. it felt so dam good! my new board is magic. i will introduce it to you soon.
