good morning. gosh, it’s my second time this year to okinawa and it’s time to leave again. this is the sad part because i kind of don’t want to leave this beautiful island filled with beautiful people. i came here to relax and i did more than that. i got to free dive, stand up paddleboard, surf, eat good food, and make new friends. i’m very lucky to be able to come back again in october so i won’t be too sad leaving this time. but when i have to leave in october, that’s going to be hard…. i get sad even thinking about it….
begin is this famous band out of okinawa. it’s like the southern all stars of shonan, and like kalapana of hawaii. they’re huge here in okinawa and if you listened to the music, you will know why. i’ve had one of their a songs in my head for the past few days and i can’t get it out…. day and night, all keep on singing in my head “boku ga umareta, kono shima no uta o…..[:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:] begin even has a book out and it’s pretty cool. also, i heard their having a concert here in okinawa on november 21st. umm… might have to fly back for that one… haha…
this is one of the pages in the book. this is where i’m staying right now. maybe begin might pop up tomorrow and start singing live? i wish… oh, take a good look at the refrigerator in the middle….
those are 2 dove wetsuit stickers. did i put them there years ago? did rikio? whoever put it there did a great promotion for dove….
**if you haven’t listened to begin before, pick up a cd and you’ll be hooked like me…..
**this is my favorite song and if you listen to the lyrics, it’s pretty powerful. it gives me chicken skin. it’s called ??$B”y(B?????$B”L(B??? and it starts like this…. [:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:]BOKU GA UMARETA, KONNO SHIMA NO…..[:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:] this song will be stuck in my head for a long time and when ever i hear it, i will always think about this specific trip to okinawa. and i think everybody else will too because i played it over and over. and while your watching it, look at all the beautiful happy okinawan faces. i love it!!!
