good morning. it was a long journey back to shonan yesterday. i was so tired standing up on the train with all my luggage. and when i was riding the train back with the other thousands of people, i was thinking about okinawa. i’ve been going there for so many years and having so many fun trips, but this past one was by far the best for me. just becoming closer to the friends i’m already close to was cool. and making new friends along the way just made it better. i still can’t get over how kind and warm hearted the people are. the locals are cool, and even the people that moved there from other parts of japan. i guess the mensore spirit brings out the best in people. and i can feel myself becoming better as a person every time i leave okinawa. i want to become nicer, i want to welcome people, and i want to take the mensore spirit with me all over the world. and that’s what i’m going to do… so if you feel like your not kind, or feel like you don’t welcome people to your hometown, you should visit okinawa and learn how to be warm hearted. and once you become a nicer person, you will be surrounded by nice people. that’s just how life works….
i woke up yesterday morning and peaked out my window to check the waves. all i seen were beers lined up. that’s how it’s been for the past week. but my last night in okinawa was really special. special because i was drinking a beer on the balcony, looked up, and seen a falling star. i made my wish. it’s a super crazy wish but i know it will come true…. why? because i believe dreams come true. look at me, i’m living in one right now….
we all went to the fish market in naha right before my flight out of okinawa. i love this place!!!! pick your seafood, have them cook it for you, and eat it with friends. can’t beat that….
i feel like my family is growing. growing closer, and growing bigger each day. when everybody came to see my off at the airport, i was feeling sad. then kazubo-san said, “see you next month”… shit, that’s right, i’m going back there next month!! yeah!!! kimura-san, kazubo-san, satoru-san, omine-san, ken-san, andrew-san, and kazuma-kun. thank you all for your generosity and thank you each for being a role model for me in some special way. i hope someday i can be as nice as all of you….
and i also wanted to thank the takahashi-san twins. having one of you sitting on each side of me was kind of weird… haha.. but fun!! thanks haru-san and toshi-san. thank you omine-san for letting me stay at your beach front house. i love it there and can’t wait to go back. and also thanks for the crazy naha nights. and thank you tomoka-chan for being so energetic and kind. tomoka-chan is a model living in okinawa. and she’s also a jun ken po master and an awesome free diver… and wanted to say thanks to the rest of the okinawan people that i met along the way!!! i’ll be back!!! back soon!!!!
