do you believe in jinx? i changed the battery on my suunto dive watch. i packed it and was ready to take it to okinawa. then i get a comment from craig sako saying “Kirby!! If you don’t get the watch pressure tested, there’s a good chance the watch will leak.” hey, i’ve done this before. i felt confident. but at the same time, i believe in jinxing! will it leak? is craig right? so i take it back out of my suitcase. drive down to ala moana shopping center and get it pressure tested. is it worth paying $20? well, we’ll find out. 10 minutes later, the guy comes back and says, “this watch leaks. if you take it in the water, it will drown.” OMG! craig was right!!! now i have to send it to suunto in america to have all the seals changed. the guy said it will cost about $150. OMG! shock!
come september 12th, the iphone 5 is coming out. the only bummer thing is that the charger will be different. now you will need a separate charger. what about my ipad? what about my ipod? mendokusai means “troublesome.”
after watching this fiji session go down, i was thinking that i need to get one monster wave before i end my surfing career. of course, i want to paddle in. the only thing is it will have to be a right. i have 100% more confidence going right than left. maybe next year? i’m mentally prepared. if i die, i die. if i get the barrel of my life, i wouldn’t know what to do with myself. pure happiness? i think so. more happy then now? i think so. there is no limit to happiness and i’m a true believer of that.
this was a pretty happy moment for me in the maldives. that trip was unbelievable!
