i had a super fun morning surfing with Goto-san and Hitomi-san. two really nice people from shikoku. i was super happy to see them experience a good surf session on their first trip to hawaii. Hey Goto-san, you surfed great today on the Fatbat! long fast riding on the lefts. and Hitomi-san, i’m glad you got to stand up and surf so many waves. welcome to hawaii and enjoy the rest of your stay. and to Bob-san from Bob Surf Shop in tokushima, thanks for introducing this wonderful couple to me. see you at haleiwa this winter!
every time i ask somebody from japan that visits hawaii for the first time “hey, what do you want to eat for lunch.” the answer i get is “loco moco!” loco moco? i usually don’t eat loco moco because it’s heavy, and unhealthy. there is so much more great foods here in hawaii. yeah, hawaii is a melting pot with many different people from different countries that make it the best ethnic foods in the world. take Hale Vietnam for example. one of the best Pho in hawaii, and probably one of the best Pho in the world, including vietnam.
waikiki is booming! tourists, surfers, shoppers, cars, busses, and everything you can imagine. our economy is top in the world and i hope it stays that way forever. welcome to paradise!
last, i took this photo about 8 years ago in bali when kimura-san and atsuko-san introduced me to the best chocolate/avocado shake. it was pretty good and i still drink it in bali. kimura-san will turn 60 years old next week and i wouldn’t miss his birthday for anything. kimura-san, see you in okinawa! get ready for jacksan shots, get ready for tequila shots, and get ready for the worst hangover of your life. haha.
