good morning. yesterday in the evening, the waves seemed like it was coming up. i pulled up to this semi-secret spot and seen 2 surfers surfing this perfect right. score or what? where is this? never mind…. haha…. anyway, it’s 6:45am now and i’m checking the waves. wow!! waves everywhere. town is chest high and perfect. i heard diamond head was good all day yesterday. not too many guys out at bowls now. the crowd actually looks mellow. even the park isn’t too crowded. the north shore? going off!!! pipe, rocky’s, sunset is all 3-5′ and good. i seen so many guys getting barreled at pipe and backdoor already. everywhere is clean and perfect. gosh, where should i surf today? ummm… another bigger north swell this weekend. i’m out of here. see you in the water….
**the day i got back to hawaii, i turned on the news and seen the saddest thing. this poor 25 year old girl tourist from the mainland was found dead on the beach in waikiki. yes, waikiki. in fact, right in the front of the royal hawaiian hotel. her nude body was found at 6am by a jogger on the beach. this is the exact thing i was talking about in a blog i posted last week. it doesn’t matter where you are in the world, nowhere is safe. whether it’s bali, philippines, japan, or even hawaii, things like this just happen….
this is the beautiful 25 year old that was murdered. she came with her mom to hawaii as a birthday present for the dental convention. she was last seen in waikiki walking around drunk….
this is the guy they finally caught yesterday. he was still on the streets for the past 4 days running away from the police. now it’s up to the courts to determine the outcome….
**i usually don’t want to write about bad things that happen in hawaii but because this happened right after the japanese girl got raped and killed in bali, i think it’s a good time to talk about it. i just have 2 things to say:
1. girls, please be careful. nowhere in this world is safe anymore. you shouldn’t be getting drunk and letting your guard down. all it takes is a bathroom break at a bar and someone could slip something into your drink. it happens in every part of the world, even at ocean’s club right here in hawaii. you shouldn’t be accepting free drinks from anybody. especially if your by yourself. it might sound funny but 5 years ago at a party, i got a girl a glass of wine because i was in front of her in the line at the bar. when i gave it to her, she asked me “did you put something in my drink?” i was really offended. i even got mad at her for even asking me that. but now when i think about it, she was smart….
2. don’t trust anyone. if the guy you meet at the bar is too good to be true. he probably is. it’s sad that we can’t trust people anymore but if you let your guard down, bad things can happen. and let me tell you, bad things are happening way to often these days… go out safe, party safe, and get home safe…..
**i’m pretty much doing this blog because i know a lot of japanese girls read it. news like this doesn’t make it to japan because it somehow finds a way to be smothered by the media. yeah, something like this can kill our tourist industry here in hawaii. i’m writing this so all you japanese girls can be more aware of the risks of going out at night and getting drunk. i’ve been out at night in japan and it’s pretty safe. but that’s japan. if you travel, you should be more cautious because not everywhere is like japan. anyway i hope this helps because i hate seeing news like this…..
