Go-Naminori Hawaii Guide Book

you know what makes me bummed out? when a new shop or restaurant opens in hawaii. the food is good, the price is cheap, and the volume is huge. then it gets popular. bloggers like me introduce it to the japanese, they come, they eat, and they enjoy. it starts to get really popular, the writers, photographers, and editors flock there to share the news to the whole world. great, i’m happy for them. THEN, i go back there a few months later, it’s crowded, the prices go up, the volume goes down, and i leave there disappointed. this past week, i’ve been to 2 places i really loved and really recommended to a lot of people. both places, the food portion went down, and the price went up. i was thinking to myself, “wow, i told so many people to come here and now they will be disappointed. then all the guide books promote these places and nobody will ever know the difference.” well, for me, i don’t like to say bad things so i won’t. but those 2 restaurants i once recommended won’t be a recommendation anymore. and even myself won’t go near there. sad.

then yesterday, i decided to go to my favorite local plate lunch shop. this place never lets me down. no tourist, no price hikes, and no bluffs. $7 for this huge local plate lunch of short rib stew. i can’t believe i ate all and went surfing right after. haha. where is it? sorry, i can’t tell you. a lot of people tell me to make a hawaii guide book. maybe someday, maybe not.

last, i really miss hanging out on the bottom of the ocean. i’m just at peace down there. nothing bothers me, nothing goes through my mind, and there is absolutely no stress. i bet the fish must trip out when they come out from around the rock and see me with my gun pointing straight at them. i like playing hide and seek with different species. it’s like a game. and once i get the kill shot, i take it. we go home, and i’m enjoying the freshest seafood dinner on the island. can’t wait to get back into the water!
