good morning, or good evening depending on where you are. i’m here in japan after a long flight. it’s kind of cold but i love it. can’t wait to eat hot nabe and sip on hot sake.
yesterday was a stress day for me. my flight was at 1:50pm so i went for a run in the morning. i came home to grab my suitcase and bags and head to the airport. there were police cars outside my house and the police was watching me as i walked into my house. then my brother who lives next door calls my phone and tells me that the police are looking for me. what??? they were in his house and were looking for me. i freaked out. i got nervous and was wondering why??? i didn’t want to miss my flight so i locked my front door in my house and was going to sneak out the back to jump in the car and head to the airport. gosh, it was like a movie and i felt like a fugitive. i know i didn’t do anything wrong but i was thinking one of my friends did something bad and they were there to question me. in fact, all kinds of crazy things were going through my mind. then as i was going to sneak out, i found out the police made a mistake and was looking for my neighbor. gosh, that was nuts…
then i’m eating lunch at taco bell at 12:50pm when my friend from JAL calls my phone. i know my flight leaves at 1:50pm but i always check in late because i don’t like waiting at airports. she said “kirby, where are you?” huh? my heart stopped again because i thought i missed my flight. she told me to hurry and get my ass down to the airport because i was the last one to check in and all the staff were waiting for me. haha.. so when i pulled up to the airport, i got greeted by 6 JAL staff including the managers and got checked in in 5 minutes at the first class counter. i felt like the president or something…. come to find out, because i was the last flight of the day, my friend wanted to close the counter so she could eat lunch.. sorry kel….
so i get on my flight. i close my eyes, and 9 hours later, i wake up and we’re about to land in osaka. what a great flight….
kaori-chan was on the same flight from hawaii. she told me that she had a few dinners with the moniz family, and also surfed with them. i just have one question? why didn’t anybody call me??? anyway, your looking at a JPSA grand champion that had ptergium 2 eye surgeries. a tough girl? yes indeed…. it was nice seeing and talking to you kaori-chan. see you in the water soon….
