Argentina Day 1 Part 2

281

it’s day 2 here and i’m having a great time. just so many things to do! my hostel turns into a freakin club at night. i couldn’t believe it when i came back at 10:30pm from the drum festival, there were dj’s, pounding sounds, and people drunk all over the place. i put in my earplugs, eye mask, and slept so good. woke up at 11am, missed breakfast, and now i’m starving! there is a transportation strike throughout buenos aires so nobody can go anywhere. i want to get out of the city and hopefully will find a way. if there is a will, there is a way right? no stores are open either because of the chance of a big demonstration, so i didn’t eat breakfast or lunch yet. but it’s ok, i’m a backpacker so when things like this happen, you have to adapt. i’m learning a lot.

walked for 3 hours touring the city by myself. pretty interesting people everywhere. if you are a people watcher like me, you will love this place!

and yes, i went to the national monuments and everything. beautiful pink building! and all the other buildings here are so impressive. just so artistic!

walked into a big shopping mall, and walked right out. i didn’t come here to shop.

this is the kind of shopping i like. street shopping at its best!

i didn’t go and eat a good steak yet. i’m only going to try it one time because it’s actually pretty expensive. but yes, i will try it.

everybody was looking at my feet all day yesterday. i was wondering why? then when i looked down, i had my slippers on. haha. after i took a shower, i forgot to put my shoes on. i was the only guy in the city walking with slippers.
anyway, last nights drum fest was crazy. it was really a cultural experience for me. the nightlife here is supposed to be the best in the world and i’m finding that out the hard way. i’m not a late night kind of guy anymore but if you sleep here before midnight, you’re missing out all the fun. caught the bus, rode the train, and almost got run over by a speeding car. there is thief here, there is crime here, and although i feel pretty safe, it’s a little scary.
no busses, no airplanes, and no nothing today. maybe i’ll hitch hike out of the city. have a nice day!
