i woke up at 6 am. checked north shore, windy and stormy. checked town, clean and small. good day for a dive. i haven’t dove waikiki in a long time so i was looking forward to checking all my dive spots…
i went to 4 marks on my GPS. every dive, i seen aggressive sharks that just wouldn’t leave us alone. one shark tried to bite the fish off my weight belt. a little scary? yes…. but the spots were loaded with good tasting fish. all the fish you see in this cooler is top quality!!! kumu, munu, uku, nohe, kala, and many more… i was glad to see all my spots flourishing with fish….
i went out to look for tako. only had 2. but it’s ok because there was plenty of fish… by the way, thanks wendell kong for calling me and offering your 8 lbs tako. your cool dude…
my friend pakana is a good tako diver. a year ago, i sold him my small speargun so he can start catching fish to go along with the tako. after he speared his first uhu back then, he’s been trying to catch a big fish. before we left the harbor, he was telling me that he hasn’t speared a GT before. well, today was his day. he speared this 40 lbs GT or Ulua with his little gun. pakana was stoked and i was stoked to be a part of his diving history. good job dude…
**by the way, i seen so many sharks, turtles, big fish, small fish, and so much marine life. it is really hard to catch fish in town and i’m feeling good that the fish are back. i brought my small cooler today because i thought we wouldn’t catch too many fish. it always happens, we got a huge fish that couldn’t fit in the cooler. i love it…
tomorrow i’m surfing. see you in the water….
