big news in america recently, but probably no news in japan about Manti Te’o. this guy is one of the top college football players in the nation playing for notre dame. a super cool guy from hawaii, graduated from punahou, and went to play football on the mainland. he then met a girl online who became his girlfriend. they fell in love. then she suddenly died of leukemia last year. he was devastated and dedicated his football year to his deceased girlfriend. well, that’s what he thought. 2 weeks ago, he found out through a tabloid site that his girlfriend wasn’t real. it was an internet made relationship that was fake. some guy decided to play a trick on Manti and made him believe till the end. poor guy? lots of people think that Manti was stupid. as for me, i think Manti was just so pure and innocent. he trusted and got deceived. he’s the victim and the sad thing about this whole story is that he will never be able to trust anybody ever again. everybody loses in this one.
every evening i check the waves to find out what the plan is for the next day. well, this afternoon, pipeline cleaned up and had some perfect barrels. tomorrow i’m expecting it to be a perfect pipeline/backdoor day and it’s my job to surf out there. i’m guessing 4-6′ with 8′ sets and perfect! i’m waking up early and see you in the water!
it was cool seeing a freaking beautiful peacock sitting on the rail of my neighbors yard earlier. i followed it up the street, seen it fly on a huge mango tree, then fly back into the mountain. it was so big that it looked like an airplane. that’s the cool thing about living in the nature. what’s next? maybe an elephant come knocking at my door in the morning? you just never know.
