good evening. what a wonderful day surfing! the waves this afternoon were super fun. i surfed with Taniguchi-san and Miwa-san again. we rode some long perfect lefts! super fun session and super good surfing. rode my new mini fat bat and it worked so good. easy paddle, easy take off, and easy surfing. perfect for small waves and now i have one more magic board in my quiver. stoked! tomorrow keep on surfing!
see that island? its name is Lanai, or also known as “The Pineapple Island.” oracle billionaire Larry Ellison bought it last year and said he was going to keep it the same. well, now they are planning a few resort hotels and a lot more development. get ready for a laid back island becoming another waikiki? i would be pissed if i lived on that island. what a bummer. is molokai for sale too? i hope not.
this is the guy, and this is, or should i say “was,” one of the hawaiian islands. now it’s Ellison’s island and because it’s his, i won’t be surprised if he changes the islands name to “Oracle’s Island.”
and you know what else this guy just bought? yeah, he just bought Island Air!!! OMG!!! now he owns a hawaiian island, and also owns one of the 3 operating airlines in hawaii. it’s like someone buying hokkaido along with ANA. as a guy that was born and raised in hawaii, i’m a little disappointed in our government. it’s just way to easy to lose control of our paradise. there is no control and no excuse for selling off an island and airlines company to the same person.
so what now? i’m going to work hard everyday and buy Oahu. then i will buy Hawaiian Airlines too. haha.
i’m not bummed or upset, i’m just wondering where our line is? can somebody help me on this one because obviously i’m lost. can money really buy anything and everything?
