good morning. wow, it’s so cold here in japan and the sky is so gray. when i got off the airplane, i stepped back into the busy world. everything moves so fast here and slow people wouldn’t make it in a country like this. my surfboard bag almost got scanned at customs. i usually speak english and when the customs agent asked me what’s in the bag, i told him surfboards. he started questioning me on my brand new passport and then asked me why i’m in japan. then i whipped out my japanese and started going off. i spoke very polite japanese and he let me go. thank goodness because i was really worried about my spearguns. there is a really fine line in the laws about spearguns in japan. everybody i ask can’t give me a clear answer. legal or illegal?
the first thing i do when i come to japan is eat something i can’t eat in hawaii. i’ve been craving liver sashimi and sake. so i went to go eat it. and let me tell you, it was so dam good….
check out my new blow up doll, i mean buoy. i bought this used for $20 but it’s pretty much brand new. i’ve been looking for 4 months for something like this and i found one before, then my friend beat me down there and bought it before me. so i guess patience paid off….
anyway, this is a picasso buoy and i hope it can hold a big fish. i’ll let you know how it works…

and this is another addition to my toy box. a LED underwater dive light. yes, this is going with me on boat trips and if i’m not too tired at night, i’m going to jump in around 12 midnight and look for a few lobsters. and when i come back, i’m eating lobster sashimi while sipping a cold bintang. hope you can all wait up!!!
and last, when i’m away from hawaii, i surely miss the plate lunches… thanks kumiko-san for making my mouth water….
