good morning. first of all, i want to with everybody back home in hawaii a HAPPY EASTER!!! i miss easter egg hunting. i remember when my grandma use to dye the hard boiled eggs, and hide it in her yard. then my sister and brothers use to hunt for it. then we eat it. oh, what memories…. hope your having a great day!!!
wow!!! yesterday was another successful tssc contest. 25 years straight and still going strong!!! hey, first of all, i want to congratulate ALL the competitors that participated. there were 180 or so and it’s always good to see everybody getting better and better. so many things have been happening that i can’t keep up with things. i have thousands of photos that i still have to post dated back from last year okinawa. somehow i’ll get to that. but that’s that, and this is this. here are some photos from yesterday.
the great thing about surfing is to see kids enjoying themselves. tssc has been growing and growing and so are the kids. i’d have to say that we have a solid grom team that are turning heads all around the world. this was yesterday’s grommet expression session!!!
seth is on a roll. he has 6 consecutive big contest wins dated back to the hawaiian regional championships in hawaii. he’s the 2010 hawaiian champion in 2 divisions, he won the grom contest in bali last week, and won 2 divisions yesterday in japan. seth’s on fire and he’s the kid to beat. the thing i love about seth is his passion to learn. he watches, he listens, and he performs. he goes out in a heat with confidence, and win or lose, he comes in with a smile on his face. that’s awesome….
every year tssc makes the most unique trophies. these aren’t the kind you can go buy from a trophy shop, these are all hand made with love. can you imagine how long it must have took to just make on? i think there were 8 divisions? so 32 trophies? thanks tssc for putting so much love into the contest. these trophies will be the the lives of the competitors forever!!! and if any of you won one and don’t want your trophy, please give it to me!! i asked seth for one of his and he said “no way”….
the great thing about the contest is the after contest party. the best food, the best people, and the best fun!!! BBQ japanese style…
and a live hula show? aloha in shikoku!!!
and the campfire? wow. i stayed in front of it all night long….
my toothache has been killing me. it gives me a migrane headache, then it leads to my sinus acting up, then it leads me feeling so shitty. so i pop 1 pain killer, it doesn’t work. i pop 2, it doesn’t work. so i pop 3, it works!!! but then i start to feel weird@#$%?? i can’t work, and i can’t function. if somebody talks to me, i’m listening, but my mind is in space. i haven’t drank any alcohol in 3 days. that’s the first for me since i started coming to japan.
so at the big party last night, i was drinking tea, then i tried the non-alcohol beer. i took a sip and thought to myself “wow, why would anybody want to drink this? it doesn’t taste like beer, it cost more than beer, and you get no buzz?” i couldn’t finish it and will never ever drink it again. i’d rather drink tea…..
**anyway, i want to say sorry for not being myself since i left hawaii. it’s my tooth’s fault!! tomorrow i have a dentist appointment in wakayama and hope to get it fixed. then i’ll be back 120%. so get ready or stay away!! haha…
