diving in the deep blue is freaking so amazing. it’s like a whole new world. i use to be so scared of sharks but after seeing sharks on every dive, i’m getting use to them. they are harmless and if they do attack, that’s life. we are in their territory so that’s just the risks of being in the ocean. for this photo, i dropped down about 60′ to take this fisheye photo of Kekoa stalking a fish, and Kyle on the surface watching his back. right after i put my camera back on the boat, the hugest whale swam under us and it blew me away. i was screaming in excitement and i’ll never forget that moment, a moment that doesn’t happen too often. it was a first for all of us.
imagine out in the deep blue sea and not even being able to see the bottom. you try to focus your eyes on something because it’s just all dark blue. then you see something huge coming out from the deep. you get excited because it could be that huge fish, but instead, it’s a shark. shock! these sharks get pretty aggressive but it’s so cool watching them in their realm. my speargun in my left hand and my camera in my right. i love it!
then after we get back on the boat, we talk, laugh, and remember all the cool things that we saw. every dive day is a different day. you just never know what you will experience and that’s what keeps me wanting to go back. maybe tomorrow? haha.
