hey, i wanted to congratulate Takashi for winning the big contest at ikumi beach the other day. i heard he won a ticket to the big All Japan Contest in ibaraki. that’s cool. for those of you who don’t know Takashi, he got a double spread in GO-NAMINORI WEB MAGAZINE VOL. 2. how did he get it? he took off at kaifu, he pulled into a barrel, got the shot, and the photo was published in the magazine. it’s pretty simple. go-naminori is all about making dreams come true. you don’t have to be famous to be in our magazine. you just have to enjoy surfing as much as we do…. SURF YOUR DREAM….
and also wanted to congratulate my friend Ryo Kubota for his team such an awesome accomplishment. ryo is my surf/dive buddy and a very smart guy. he not only surfs good, dives good, and heads the Surfers Foundation Hawaii Chapter, ryo also is a japanese native that speaks fluent english attending the University of Hawaii. he brought up his big project to me before but i had no idea it was at this level. so when i found out they won first prize and his team won over $27,500 in cash and prizes, it must be something big! they are team members to DIAGENETIX, which owns the technology that can be used for simultaneous copying and detection of sequence specific genomic DNA. eeh? what does that mean? now you can imagine the face i gave ryo when we were diving one day and he was telling me about it. haha… i still don’t know what it means but winning such a competition against the smartest people the university has to offer is huge. i’m so stoked to see my friends doing so good!!!
last, had one question for ryo. “hey ryo, i seen the words “copying” and “detection” of DNA. does that mean you can take DNA and copy people? if so, can you please make for me 2 kirby’s and send them to my house. i’ll have one do all my computer work and have the other answer my calls. then i can live even a happier stress free life than i’m already living. let me know how much it will cost me. haha… mahalo…
