i’ve been looking around for a used gun for a long time. in fact, a certain model that i wanted to take on my dive trips. yes, a store 5 minutes away from my house sells the exact gun i wanted. some of my friends told me “why don’t you go buy a brand new one? why are you wasting your time?” well friends, that gun cost over $700 with a reel. but the patient me waited patiently and finally found a used one. how much? i got it for $425 with a reel, extra bands, and extra shaft. that all is worth over $800. i saved $400!!! that’s big money guys! now i can take that $400 and travel, or eat good food, or buy something else, or save it and make more money. either way, i win. that’s how my mind works.
so i’m like a kid with a new toy. all that’s in my mind is my new gun. so i take it apart, redo everything, and wanted to install a better reel i had on it. the problem is i need to do some customizing in order to do that. so i sit down, think, and do.
i go to the hardware store, pick up a piece of wood, then use the carpentry skills my grandpa taught me. first is the table saw.
next is the chop saw. the my brother helps me drill the holes straight.
then after some sanding, the wood is perfectly shaped. i stain it to match the gun color.
then i install it. perfect fit!
now i’m going to sell my old gun so in the end, i will break even. it took some thinking and some work, but i’m a very happy kid that can’t wait to try out his new toy. the next 5 days are calm winds and great diving conditions. i can’t wait!!!!
