my classmate Candace is the second one from the right. i met her when i was 12 years old at Niu Valley Intermediate. i actually liked her back then and use to follow her home like a puppy. haha. she lived right down my street and became really good friends. a super mommy with 2 wonderful kids that grew up in the perfect Inouye world. i’m so proud of her!

want to hear a funny story? this is Candace’s father, Mr. Inouye. i had a car at age 15 so i use to go pick up Candace at her house. i was wild back then and had absolutely no manners. so i’d pull up in front of her house with my noisy Volkswagon Squareback. i roll down the window, yell her name, and even toot my horn to call her out. one day, Mr. Inouye came out of the house very angry and came up to my car. he said in a stern voice “If you want to take my daughter out, be a man and come to the door!” OMG!!! i freaked out! i was so embarrassed. i said “sorry” and i think i left. but ever since that day, i would go to the door when ever i picked up a girl. whether it be a friend, or a date, i would always go to the door and ring the doorbell like a gentleman. so yesterday, i apologized to Mr. Inouye again. and i also thanked him for turning me into somewhat a gentleman.
Congratulations again Hayley for graduating from high school. “Keep shining as the world is yours!” And to my dear friend Candace, “you are a super mommy and i respect you for raising 2 beautiful kids. thank you for always being my friend.” And to Mr. Inouye, “thank you again. that day you yelled at me changed my life. i never forgot it, and never will. i really appreciate you forgiving me, and really respect your family values. i will do my best to be more of a gentlemen.”
